Designing for what happens after the session ends
How I build reflection tools, reinforcement content, and coaching methodology that make development stick — supporting over 1,000 clients through both group and individual work.
Challenge
Most learning and coaching fails not in the room, but afterward — when insight doesn't survive contact with a busy workweek. The real challenge isn't designing a good session; it's designing what happens in the days and weeks after it, when old habits are easiest to fall back into.
Method
I build structured reflection and reinforcement tools around every learning or coaching engagement — pre-session check-ins that set intention, post-session summaries that capture what mattered, and concrete action steps that translate insight into behavior. This methodology has scaled across both group webinars and individual coaching relationships, always aimed at transfer: making sure development shows up in how someone actually works, not just how they felt in the moment.
Sample Assets
Coaching reflection worksheets, pre- and post-session check-ins, microlearning follow-ups, and simple action-step trackers designed to keep momentum after a single session or conversation ends.
Learner Experience
Participants and clients leave each engagement with a concrete next step, not just a memory of a good conversation — and a lightweight way to track whether they're actually applying it.
“I wish I would have known about this sooner.”
Reinforcement Strategy
Built-in follow-up touchpoints — a check-in message, a short reflection prompt — re-engage the learner after the initial session, rather than treating development as a single event. Across more than 1,000 clients, this approach has consistently earned five-star feedback and repeat engagement.
What This Demonstrates
A behavior-change methodology, not just content delivery — proven at meaningful scale across both group and one-on-one formats. It's the same instinct that turns a single workshop into something people actually carry with them.
